What is DOUBLE-ENDED


In electronic components, 'Double-Ended' is generally used in two meanings.

As a term applied to signals or circuits, 'Double-Ended' means that the signal exists at both ends of the signal or on both sides of the circuit. This refers to the case where an electrical signal is transmitted in both directions, and usually a positive and negative signal is used. In other words, when a signal flows in both directions or when the input and output of a circuit are interconnected, it is called Double-Ended.

As a term used in amplifier circuits, 'Double-Ended' means a method in which the signal is amplified on both sides. These amplifiers are also known as 'push-pull' or 'push-pull transformers'. These amplifiers are used to amplify the positive parts of the output signal to different voltages.

Double-Ended circuits or signals are used in special situations where electrical signals flow in both directions or where inputs and outputs must be interconnected. This can happen frequently in areas such as data communications, amplifier design, and certain sensors and actuators. Therefore, it is important to understand exactly what meaning Double-Ended is used in different contexts.
