What is ADC

In electronic components, ADC stands for Analog-to-Digital Converter and means a device that converts an analog signal into a digital signal.

Analog signals have continuous values, unlike digital signals used in electronic devices, have infinitely many values and represent values that change over a continuous period of time.

On the other hand, digital signals have discrete values, either 0 or 1, and their change over time is discontinuous.

In electronics, ADCs convert analog signals into digital signals that can be processed and stored by electronic devices.

ADCs can be implemented in several ways, most notably flash ADC, successive approximation ADC, and delta-sigma ADC.

ADC is one of the essential elements in many electronic devices.

For example, in an audio system, an ADC converts an analog input signal, such as a microphone, into a digital signal so that the audio signal can be processed and stored.

In addition, it can be used for various applications by converting analog signals collected from sensors, etc. into digital ones.

Therefore, in electronic components, ADCs play a very important role in converting analog signals into digital signals to process and store data in electronic devices.
