What is BURST

In electronics, BURST usually refers to a series of sudden changes or rapid successive signals that occur during signal or data transmission.

In general, BURST is a term used in the field of data communication and refers to the case of temporarily transmitting a large amount of data at once in order to transmit data quickly.

These BURSTs are primarily used in applications requiring high-speed data transmission.

For example, in digital audio or video streaming, digital image transmission, etc., data is transmitted in bursts to support rapid transmission.

BURST can also be used to indicate a sudden impulse from an electronic device or a high-voltage, high-current signal of short duration.

This can happen when an electronic device or circuit temporarily requires high power or voltage for a specific action or operation.

For example, power supply parts sometimes use the term BURST mode power supply to describe how they deliver power to potentially high energy consumption devices.
