What is DUPLEX

In electronic components, 'Duplex' is a term used in data communication and network fields, and means a communication method in which two independent communication paths can transmit data in both directions at the same time.

Duplex communication allows simultaneous data flow in both directions between two communicating devices, so data can be sent and received simultaneously. This communication method is an important concept in data communication and is used in various communication media such as network equipment, cables, and optical fibers.

Duplex communication can generally be divided into two types:

Full-Duplex: Full-Duplex refers to a communication method in which two communication devices can simultaneously transmit data in both directions. It has two communication paths allocated separately, and each path transmits data independently. Full-Duplex communication, also called full-duplex communication, is one of the network communication methods used in telephone calls and the Internet.

Half-Duplex: Half-Duplex refers to a communication method in which two communication devices alternately transmit data in both directions. This means that two communication paths are used alternately in time, and when data is transmitted, the device on one side sends and the device on the other side receives. Half-Duplex communication, also called Half-Duplex communication, is one of the methods used in radios and older Ethernet communications.

Duplex communication plays an important role in improving communication speed and reliability. Data transfer is faster and more efficient, and at the same time, bi-directional data flow is possible, allowing better management of communication conditions. Therefore, the Duplex communication method is widely used in data communication systems and networks.
