What is ELASTOMER

In electronic parts, 'Elastomer' is a term that refers to a rubber material that has elasticity. Elastomer is generally a rubber material and has elasticity and reproducibility, so it can return to its original shape even when pressure or deformation is applied. These properties make them useful in a variety of applications, especially in electronic components and devices, such as:

Contact Pads and Springs: Elastomers are used in electronic components as contact pads or springs, which are responsible for establishing contact between components and providing electrical connections. Elastomer contact pads fill minute gaps between components while providing effective contact and durability.

Sealing and protecting: Elastomer can be used to protect electronic components from water and dust. Elastomer materials such as silicone have waterproof and dustproof properties, protecting parts from external elements and ensuring stable operation for a long time.

Cushioning: Elastomer can be used to dampen shock or vibration. These cushion rings help prevent parts from being damaged from minute shocks or vibrations and maintain stable operation.

Assembly of Parts: Elastomer can be used to assemble parts. It helps in assembling and fixing electronic parts by providing alignment and stability of parts.

In electronic components, elastomers are used for a variety of purposes and play an important role in improving the performance and reliability of components. Because of these properties, elastomers are considered important materials used extensively in the design and manufacture of electronic devices.
