What is ELECTRODE

In electronic parts, 'Electrode' is an electrically conductive material and refers to a part used to receive electrical signals or transmit electrical energy. Also called an electrode, it plays a very important role in electronic parts and electrical devices.

In electronic components, the 'electrode' has a number of uses:

Battery and Capacitor: Batteries and capacitors are used to store and supply electrical energy, using electrodes. Electrodes contribute to the storage and release of energy in cells or capacitors by promoting electrochemical reactions.

Sensor: A sensor is used to detect the surrounding physical environment or condition and convert it into an electrical signal. The electrodes interact with the sensor's environment to help transduce the signal. Electrodes are used, for example, in pH sensors or temperature sensors.

Electrical conditioning: Electrodes are used in devices that require electrical conditioning. Electrodes control the flow of current and open or close electrical circuits to regulate the operation of the device.

Electrochemical reactions: Electrodes participate in electrochemical reactions and enable electrochemical energy conversion. These properties are very important for the conversion and storage of electrical energy in electrical devices.

Electrodes in electronic components can be made of a variety of materials, and are made of highly conductive metals (eg copper, aluminum, etc.) or semiconducting materials (eg silicon). An appropriate electrode material is selected according to each application and condition, and the characteristics of the electrode have a great influence on the operation and performance of the part.
