What is FORWARD


In electronic components, FORWARD usually refers to one of the electrical characteristics of a semiconductor diode.

Semiconductor diodes are designed so that current can only flow in one direction, and the state in which current can only flow in the front direction of the diode is called FORWARD.

This refers to a state in which electrons and holes are combined at the PN junction of the diode and current flows.

Also, in electronic components, FORWARD means that signals are forwarded.

For example, when a signal is amplified or conditioned using a diode or transistor, and the signal is passed in the forward direction, it is called a FORWARD signal.
