What is METALLIZED

METALLIZED in electronic components means a surface coated with metal.

It is used to improve the electrical, mechanical and chemical properties and enhance the performance and reliability of electronic components.

METALLIZED processing can be done in a variety of ways.

Commonly used are vacuum deposition, sputtering, oxidation and chemical plating processes.

When a metal is coated using one of these processes, the surface of the electronic component is no longer exposed, making it more resistant to corrosion or chemical changes and improving electrical stability.

METALLIZED treatment is commonly applied to parts such as cases, pins, pads and leadframes in electronic components.

For example, the vacuum deposition process coats the surface of a component with a metal such as aluminum, copper or gold to prevent corrosion and improve electrical stability.

Sputtering is used to apply metallic coatings to electrodes and substrates.

Therefore, METALLIZED treatment in electronic components helps improve corrosion and electrical stability and improves performance and reliability.
