What is PLATE

In electronic parts, plated means metal coating treatment.

These treatments play an important role in improving the durability and reliability of metal parts.

For example, in PCB (Printed Circuit Board), in order to attach certain components, the hole (coating) to which the components are attached goes through a process of metalizing.

In this process, electrolytic electricity is used to coat the substrate with metal, which is called Plated Through Hole (PTH).

PTH also has a metal coating on the holes where the parts are attached, so the parts are attached more firmly.

In addition, metal coating is applied to the connection parts or terminals of electronic parts, which improves the electrical connection between parts and improves durability against corrosion and rust.

Plated is also used to adjust the resistance and inductance of signal lines for transmitting signals in electronic components.
