What is PNP

A electronic component PNP (positive-negative-positive) transistor is a semiconductor device similar to an NPN transistor, used to amplify electrical signals of positive polarity.

A PNP transistor has three connection pins, which can be divided into Base, Emitter, and Collector.

Positive electricity flows between Base and Emitter, and negative electricity flows between Collector and Emitter.

PNP transistors, unlike NPN transistors, charge moves from negative to positive electricity.

Therefore, PNP transistors are used in circuits where the direction of charge movement and voltage polarity are opposite.

PNP transistors are used for current amplification and switching tasks.

For example, PNP transistors can be used as reverse voltage protection devices in electrical circuits.

In addition, PNP transistors are used as load switches in DC-DC power conversion circuits and in amplifier circuits such as audio amplifiers.
