What is VALVE

In electronic parts, a valve is also called a vacuum tube, and it is an electronic device that performs functions such as amplifying or controlling electrical signals.

Valves were mainly used until the early 20th century, and are currently used only in certain fields.

Valve basically has two or more electrodes (anode, cathode, grid, etc.) inside a case surrounded by dielectric, and maintains a vacuum between the electrodes.

When a voltage is applied to the electrodes, the electrons move and cause a current to flow, which passes through the space between the electrodes and is delivered to the output electrode.

Valve played a very important role in the development of early electronic technology, and was widely used in communication fields such as radio and television.

Currently, it has been replaced by electronic devices such as transistors and integrated circuits (ICs) in most acoustic and communication fields, but it is still used in some high-frequency and power fields.
