What is infrared


In electronic components, INFRARED means a component that transmits data using infrared rays.

INFRARED parts are used in most home appliances and electronic devices.

INFRARED parts usually use Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) that emit infrared light.

These LEDs are mainly used in smartphones, TV remote controls, and air conditioner remote controls.

When a button on the remote control is pressed, the LED emits infrared light to transmit data, which causes the device receiving the data to execute the command.

Also, the infrared receiver is another important part among the INFRARED parts. An infrared receiver receives infrared light, interprets the signal, and converts it into data.

These infrared receivers are used in home appliances such as air conditioners, TVs, and DVD players.

INFRARED parts are mainly used in wireless communication. However, since infrared rays can be blocked by objects, transmission distance and direction may be limited.

Recently, wireless communication technologies such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi have developed and can be a better alternative to INFRARED in terms of transmission distance and signal strength.
